Release Notes: $CHEDDAR leak, improved pre-battle timing, UI updates, optimization, and bug fixes.
We spent the last week exterminating bugs and making slight updates since the recent major feature releases of Loot Minting and Weapon & Character Leveling
Sometimes it’s not always glitz, glamor, and massive feature releases every week. We still think this week’s updates are pretty exciting though - but maybe we’re biased 🤷
🧀 We leaked our first image of $CHEDDAR
$CHEDDAR is an in-game, on-chain token that will play a major role in the Mini Royale economy. You can read more about the utility of $CHEDDAR in our white paper (v2 coming soon!)

⏳ Players will now spend less time waiting before battles
A main highlight of this week was the release of our optimized pre-battle flow. Before this release, some players waited for up to half a minute to jump into a game. With our new flow, this number should be drastically decreased. Notice anything different? 👇
What was once 3 different screens has now been merged into 1 😎
⚙ Settings Improvements
We made some slight tweaks to settings to improve functionality, including fixes for text layering issues, problems with settings slider bars resetting, and crosshair selection/menu issues.
In addition to that, players can now successfully bind the ESC key to keyboard configurations. We also fixed issues with updating key configs in game using P.
🤝 Clan Updates
We made some minor updates to the Clan interfaces, like improvements to text legibility, removing ancient and inactive Clans from our lists (RIP), fixing the scrolling/scroll bar issues in Clan lists, and minor copy updates.
🆕 Optimizations
True MRN fans will be thrilled about this 😤 We did a TON of work on optimizations to make the game faster, smoother, and better than ever. Updates here include:
Map optimizations for better load speeds for players with slower connections
Improvements to load speeds for game modes, level rewards, and private rooms
Fixes to character animations
🐛 Bug Fixes
We shipped a handful of bug fixes. Many of these were player reported or caught by our noble beta testers.
Maybe most notably, we addressed everyone’s least favorite bug this week, the issue with reduced crouching hitbox, which made it very difficult to eliminate players while they were squatting. This will no longer be a problem.
In addition to the couching bug fix, we also addressed the following:
Users shouldn’t get stuck on Victory/Defeat screen
Fixes to player counter in Battle Royale
Fixes for spectator mode in Battle Royale
Fixes for falling through map spots in Battle Royale
Fixes for post-battle and battle pass screen background issues
Glitches addressed in grenade smoke clouds
