Release 1.0.181: Valentine's Day, new characters, level rewards, and the return of private rooms 🎉
💝 Nothing says "We love you" more than a mega release on Valentine's Day 💝
It’s the day of love here in the Miniverse, and we’re sharing our gratitude for all of you with some game updates that you’re going to ADORE. Just try not to spend all day playing Mini Royale: Nations, ok?
😜 Hey! Get a room!
Private rooms are back and better than ever. Players can share the link to their private match rooms with friends (and enemies). Private Rooms can hold up to 10 players, with a minimum of 2 players. Please note that players will not receive XP or BP when playing in private rooms.
This release features V1 of our newly returned private rooms. We have further updates (like private room UI updates and advanced settings) slotted for our upcoming releases.
💟 We love you. And we love Valentine’s Day game content updates too.
Roses are red, violets are blue, we have new v-day content just for you 💖
This release includes an awesome UI update, a new map designed with lovers in mind, an all new Limited-Time Quest, and a new weapon that will blow you away. Literally.
Oh, and meet our newest Mini Royale Hero, Rico Valentino 👀
🧮 Level & XP formula rebalance
We’re constantly evaluating and tweaking mechanics in MRN to ensure that the game is fun, playable, and will foster a thriving player-owned economy. With this release, we’ve updated the formula for calculating XP earned per match, as well as the amount of XP required per level.
BP rewarded per match has not changed (BP = XP x .7). XP gained from Battle Royale has however been boosted slightly.
After the update, some players will see their level change as a result of the new formula.
Full details on XP and Levels will be added to our FAQ shortly.
🎁 Move over BP rewards, XP rewards are coming to town
In addition to receiving rewards for leveling up in the Battle Pass, players will now receive rewards for reaching new levels.
The image below shows all our rewards for Season 1 Battle Pass
Leveling up in XP up to level 10 will unlock aspects of the game including daily quests, season quests, and weapons. After level 10, players will receive orbs for each level they reach.
Wait, what’s an orb again?
Orbs are an in-game currency won from completing Mission objectives. Orbs are off-chain and accessible to players with or without a web3 wallet.
After land launches this year, orbs will be able to be converted into Enriched Orbs, which will let players access tiered leaderboard events where they can compete for $CHEDDAR.
You can read more about the Mini Royale: Nations economy loops on our whitepaper.
Full XP rewards list will be added to our faq shortly.
⬆ Our feature upvote board is now live
We like to keep a very active ear to the community. We recently released a feature upvote board to give players (and our team) a more organized view of what our community wants to see added, updated, or removed from the game.
Head to our feature upvote board to add your feature requests!
⚔ Meet your new squad
Sometimes in life, you must learn how to let go of what makes you comfortable to make room for what could only bring you past your wildest dreams. With that, we’re announcing that our beloved hot dog boi, LA baddie, biker dude, mustachio, and Fu have been demoted and returned to their homes.
After evaluating the performance of hundreds of heroes (and villains), we're excited to announce that a new dawn of Mini Royale awaits, and its fate rests in the hands of 5 new heroes. Make your tributes, say your goodbyes, and prepare to dominate with Mr. N, Alejandro (Ale), Wei, Roy, and Fara.
🚫 Q & E lean has been removed
Some people loved leaning. Some people hated it. We disabled the functionality because with the current implementation, leaning players do not show up in the game as leaning, but instead, they stay in their standing position, giving them a huge upper hand if they want to hide in a corner and snipe players who pass by.
Think leaning needs to come back? Use our feature upvote board to submit this request.
👀 Watch the rest of your Battle Royale match from the sidelines
We’ve introduced spectator mode for Battle Royale, which means that you can watch the rest of the battle in spectator mode after you’ve been eliminated.
Spectator mode for other game modes or for a Battle Royale game that you’re not playing in is planned for development in an upcoming release.
🐛 Bug fixes and minor updates
This release also includes a substantial amount of bug fixes, with a huge chunk of these bugs being player reported via our Bug Reports discord channel. Fixes for this release include (but are definitely not limited to):
Fix to armor protection amount in Battle Royale
Wall, door and other map texture fixes
No more dead bodies floating in the air! (This was caused by players being eliminated mid-jump)
Fix for timer in CTF after using Play Again
Wallet verification will now update in real time and not after reload only
Fix preventing BP tiers skipping from 40 to 41
